Come Hell or High Water
Come Hell or High Water is a live album from Deep Purple, released on 31 October 1994 by RCA. It was captured on the 1993 tour, at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart on 16 October and at the NEC in Birmingham on 9 November. It also appeared as a DVD, so there is film of the shows as well as the sound.
Its place in the band's story is what gives it weight. It documents one of the final stretches with Ritchie Blackmore, who left after the Helsinki show on 17 November 1993. Joe Satriani took over guitar for the rest of that tour, and Steve Morse joined later. Coming after The Battle Rages On… (1993), this is a snapshot of a line-up on the point of change, and a record of hard rock played on stage as the guitarist's era drew to a close.
