Album
Amorica
Amorica is the third studio album by The Black Crowes, released on 25 October 1994 through American Recordings. It followed Shake Your Money Maker and The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, and it kept the band rooted in southern rock, blues rock and straight-ahead rock and roll. In the United States it climbed to number 11 on the Billboard albums chart and went gold, shipping 500,000 copies, and it also found its way onto the charts in several other countries.
For anyone tracing the band's path, this is the record that sits between their early breakthrough years and the later Three Snakes and One Charm. It is the place to hear the Crowes in the middle of their story, still steeped in the blues and rock traditions they had built their name on, and worth a listen as a key chapter in their 1990s run.
