EP
Above and Beyond
Above and Beyond is an EP by Deep Purple, released on 25 October 2013 through earMUSIC. It arrived in the same year as the band's studio album Now What?!, so it belongs to that stretch of their career rather than standing as a separate chapter.
As an EP, it is best approached as a companion piece to that record, a short extra helping for listeners who were already following the band's later work. Deep Purple had been going since 1968, when Shades of Deep Purple appeared, and by 2013 they had decades of albums behind them, from Deep Purple in Rock and Machine Head through to Perfect Strangers and beyond.
