Recharged
Recharged is Linkin Park's second remix album, released on 29 October 2013 through Warner Bros. Records and Machine Shop Recordings. It reworks ten tracks from Living Things, their fifth studio album, handing the songs over to other hands and pushing them towards electronic, dubstep and EDM territory while the band's alternative metal roots stay in view. Rick Rubin and Mike Shinoda produced the whole thing.
The record also adds something new: "A Light That Never Comes", a collaboration with Steve Aoki, which came out as the first single on 16 September and appears here alongside a remix of itself. Critics gave the album mixed reviews, but it's a curious detour for anyone who wants to hear how the Living Things songs sound when they're rebuilt for the dancefloor, and it sits neatly between that album and The Hunting Party.
