Danzig 5: Blackacidevil is the fifth studio album by the American heavy metal band Danzig, released on 29 October 1996 on Hollywood Records. It arrived after four albums that began with the band's self-titled debut in 1988 and ran through Lucifuge, How the Gods Kill and 4P.
What sets it apart is the change of sound. Here the band moves towards a largely industrial approach, leaving behind much of the straight heavy metal of its earlier records and mixing the two styles. That makes it a distinctive turn in the Danzig catalogue and a good place to hear the group trying something new. The album was reissued through E-Magine Records in 2000 with three extra tracks, which gives collectors another version to seek out.
