Danzig

Danzig are an American heavy metal band led by Glenn Danzig, who had already fronted the Misfits and Samhain. They formed in Lodi, New Jersey, in 1987, growing out of Samhain. The classic line-up paired Danzig on vocals and keyboards with guitarist John Christ, bassist Eerie Von and drummer Chuck Biscuits.

Their sound blends gothic atmosphere with blues-soaked rock and metal. A live version of "Mother", a song from 1988, gave them a major hit. The first four albums are the ones listeners return to most: Danzig (1988), Danzig II - Lucifuge (1990), Danzig III: How the Gods Kill (1992) and Danzig 4P (1994). The band have kept going since, with twelve studio albums to date, including Black Laden Crown (2017) and Sings Elvis (2020), a collection of cover versions.
