Faith No More are a rock band from San Francisco, formed in 1979 and known for a sound that mixes alternative metal, funk metal and post-punk with a taste for the experimental. Before settling on the name in September 1983, they played as Sharp Young Men and then Faith. No Man. Chuck Mosley sang on their first two albums, We Care a Lot and Introduce Yourself.

The turning point came when Mike Patton joined as vocalist in 1988, alongside Billy Gould, Mike Bordin, Roddy Bottum and Jim Martin. The Real Thing went platinum and gave them "Epic", which reached No. 9 in the US. Angel Dust followed in 1992, and their cover of the Commodores' "Easy" was a big hit in Australia and Europe. They split in 1998, reunited in 2009, and released Sol Invictus in 2015, their first record in 18 years.
