Jane’s Addiction
Jane's Addiction were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1985 by vocalist Perry Farrell and bassist Eric Avery, after the end of Farrell's earlier group Psi Com. The best-known line-up added drummer Stephen Perkins and guitarist Dave Navarro. Their sound drew on alternative rock, hard rock, psychedelic rock and funk metal, and they were among the first bands of the early 1990s alternative movement to find commercial success.
Their first release was a live album in 1987, which brought them to Warner Bros. Records. The studio albums Nothing's Shocking (1988) and Ritual de lo habitual (1990) won acclaim and a devoted following, and their 1991 farewell tour launched the first Lollapalooza. Strays (2003) and The Great Escape Artist (2011) followed after reunions. The band ended for a fourth time, confirmed in December 2025.
