Live and Rare
Live and Rare is a compilation from Jane's Addiction, released through Warner Bros. Records on 25 September 1991. It gathers early b-sides, demos and live cuts into a single collection, and it was issued in the wake of the band's two studio albums, Nothing's Shocking (1988) and Ritual de lo habitual (1990).
Sitting between those records and the band's return with Strays in 2003, it works as a side door into their alternative rock and alternative metal sound. If you already know the studio albums, it offers a look at the rougher, less polished material that surrounded them.
