Album
Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace
Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace is the sixth studio album by Foo Fighters, released on 25 September 2007 through Roswell and RCA. It followed In Your Honor and saw the band working for a second time with producer Gil Norton, whom Dave Grohl brought back to help the songs reach their full potential and to give the record a different feel from its predecessors.
The album mixes full-throttle rock with acoustic numbers, and the dynamics shift throughout, a result of the varied styles on the band's demos. Grohl wrote more reflective lyrics, inspired by the birth of his daughter, and aimed for songs that would mean something to listeners. It topped the charts in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Austria, and produced the singles "The Pretender", "Long Road to Ruin" and "Let It Die". It won the Grammy for Best Rock Album and the Brit Award for Best International Album.
