Album
In Your Honor
In Your Honor is the fifth studio album by Foo Fighters, released on 14 June 2005. It is a double album: the first disc is given over to heavy rock, the second to mellower, acoustic songs. Dave Grohl wanted a more varied record, feeling that after ten years the band needed to break new ground. It was made at a newly built studio in Northridge, Los Angeles, with guests including John Paul Jones, Norah Jones and Josh Homme.
Grohl's time on the campaign trail with John Kerry during the 2004 US presidential election shaped some of the lyrics. It also marks the first appearance of keyboardist Rami Jaffee, who became a full member only in 2016. Reviews were mostly positive, though some found it overlong and uneven. It reached number two in both the US and UK, and topped the charts in five countries. It earned five Grammy nominations.
