Death & Progress
Death & Progress is the fourth studio album from Diamond Head, the British heavy metal band behind Lightning to the Nations, Borrowed Time and Canterbury. Released on 14 June 1993, it was their first record in ten years, following Canterbury in 1983.
The sound is much cleaner and more polished than on those first three albums. Andrew Scarth, who had worked with Bad Company and Foreigner, co-produced, engineered and mixed it. There are two notable guests: Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, and Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, who brought in his own producer, Max Norman, to help. For anyone who knows only the band's early work, it shows how they sounded after a decade away, with some famous admirers alongside them.
