Album
Canterbury
Canterbury is the third studio album by Diamond Head, the British heavy metal band, and it came out on MCA Records on 16 September 1983. It followed Lightning to the Nations in 1980 and Borrowed Time in 1982, and it reached number 32 on the UK Albums Chart.
What sets it apart is its leaning towards progressive rock. That influence was only hinted at on Borrowed Time, but here it comes much further to the front, giving the band's heavy metal and hard rock a more adventurous shape. If you know the group mainly through their earliest records, this is the one that shows them stretching their sound in a new direction.
