Album
Piece of Mind
Piece of Mind is the fourth studio album by Iron Maiden, released on 16 May 1983 through EMI in the UK and Europe, with Capitol handling the US release. It followed The Number of the Beast and came ahead of Powerslave, placing it right in the middle of the band's early run of records.
The big change here was behind the kit. Nicko McBrain, who had recently left the band Trust, made his first appearance on a Maiden album. The record reached number three on the UK Albums Chart and went platinum in both the UK and North America, so it was a clear success with critics and buyers alike. For anyone tracing how the band's line-up settled into its classic shape, this is the place to start.
