Macabre Eternal
Macabre Eternal is the fifth studio album by the American death metal band Autopsy, released on 16 May 2011 through Peaceville Records. It arrived after a long gap: the band split in 1995, reformed in 2009, and this was the first record they put out following that return. Their previous album, Shitfun, dated from 1995.
There are a few details that mark it out. Joe Trevisano makes his debut on bass, and it is the first Autopsy album since Severed Survival in 1989 to do without any short tracks. For anyone who loved the band's early work and wondered what a reunited Autopsy would sound like, this is where to start, and it sets up the run of albums that followed, beginning with The Headless Ritual in 2013.
