The Path of Totality
The Path of Totality is Korn's tenth studio album, released on 6 December 2011 through Roadrunner Records. It follows Korn III: Remember Who You Are from 2010 and comes before The Paradigm Shift in 2013. This is the record where the band stepped away from their usual approach and handed the controls to electronic producers, with Skrillex, Noisia and Excision among those involved, blending dubstep with their nu metal sound.
Skrillex produced three of the tracks, including "Get Up!", which arrived as a download in May 2011, while "Narcissistic Cannibal" followed as the second single that October. Jonathan Davis was clear about the intent: "We didn't make a dubstep album. We made a Korn album." Reviews were mixed, though Revolver named it their album of the year in their 100th issue. It's a bold left turn that makes for a fascinating listen.
