The Serenity of Suffering
The Serenity of Suffering is Korn's twelfth studio album, released on 21 October 2016 through Roadrunner Records. It followed The Paradigm Shift in 2013 and came before The Nothing in 2019, so it sits in the middle of the band's long run as a working nu metal act, well over two decades after their self-titled debut in 1994.
The big talking point is the weight of it. Guitarist Brian Welch described the record as heavier than anyone had heard from the band in a long time, and it carries some of their most intense vocals and music in recent years. If you've drifted away from Korn since the early records, this is a good place to see how hard they were still willing to hit when they chose to.
