The End, So Far
The End, So Far is Slipknot's seventh studio album, released on 30 September 2022 through Roadrunner Records, the label the band signed with in 1998. It follows We Are Not Your Kind from 2019 and sits in the nu metal and alternative metal camp the band is known for. At just over 57 minutes, it is the shortest of their studio albums, which makes it a more compact listen than you might expect from the group.
It's also a record of endings and arrivals. Percussionist Michael Pfaff, who joined in 2019, appears on a Slipknot album for the first time. It closes the band's long run with Roadrunner, and it is the last studio album to feature Craig Jones, Jay Weinberg and Sid Wilson before their respective departures. For anyone following the band's story, it marks a clear turning point.
