Album
Impera
Impera is the fifth studio album by Swedish band Ghost, released on 11 March 2022 through Loma Vista Recordings. It followed Prequelle in 2018 and reunited the band with producer Klas Åhlund, who had also worked on Meliora in 2015. Its songs circle around the rise and fall of empires, set to a blend of hard rock, heavy metal and pop rock.
The run-up brought three singles: "Hunter's Moon", which appeared over the closing credits of the slasher film Halloween Kills, then "Call Me Little Sunshine" and "Twenties". Several outside writers helped shape the songs, among them pop producers Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Pontare, Kent singer Joakim Berg and Peter Svensson of The Cardigans. That pop-minded input is part of the appeal, and critics received the record with widespread acclaim.
