You and I
You and I is a compilation of early Jeff Buckley recordings, released on 11 March 2016 through Columbia. The material dates from 1993, when he was first working for the label, and it leans mostly on cover songs rather than original writing.
It sits alongside Grace, the only studio album he completed, released in 1994, and offers a look at the singer before that record took shape. For anyone who knows Grace well, it is a chance to hear his folk rock leanings in a more stripped-back setting, and to hear how he approached other writers' songs at the start of his time with Columbia.
