Album
Conspiracy of One
Conspiracy of One is the sixth studio album by the Offspring, the American punk rock band. It came out on 14 November 2000 through Columbia and followed Americana, which had been a bigger success. The band had by then spoken up in favour of peer-to-peer file sharing, arguing it would not damage sales, and they first planned to put the record out through their own website. Columbia threatened legal action, so it reached shops as a physical release.
It debuted at number nine on the US Billboard 200 with more than 125,000 copies sold in its first week, and later went platinum in the United States. "Original Prankster", "Want You Bad" and "Million Miles Away" were the singles. It is also the last album with drummer Ron Welty, who was fired in 2003 and went on to form Steady Ground, so it marks the end of one chapter for the band.
