Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water
Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water is the third studio album by Limp Bizkit, released on 17 October 2000 through Flip and Interscope. It arrived hot on the heels of Significant Other (1999), which had pushed the band into the mainstream, and the Jacksonville outfit used that momentum to blend nu metal, rap rock and alternative metal on a bigger stage than ever before.
The commercial response was enormous. It entered the US Billboard 200 at No. 1, selling 1,054,511 copies in its first week, a record for the fastest-selling rock album in the country. It went on to sell over 6.7 million copies in the US and earned platinum certifications in 13 countries. It also marks the end of an era: it was the last album with guitarist Wes Borland until the 2005 EP The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1), and the last with the classic line-up until Gold Cobra in 2011.
