Controlled by Hatred / Feel Like Shit… Deja‐Vu
Controlled by Hatred / Feel Like Shit… Deja‐Vu is the fourth album by the American crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies, released on Epic on 17 October 1989. It sits between 1988's How Will I Laugh Tomorrow When I Can't Even Smile Today and 1990's Lights… Camera… Revolution, and it is counted as a full studio album even though a good part of it revisits earlier material.
The running order mixes re-recorded songs with fresh ones. There are four reworkings of tracks from No Mercy, a cover of Los Cycos' "It's Not Easy", and two new songs, "Just Another Love Song" and "Feel Like Shit… Deja‐Vu". The title track of the previous record appears twice, as a "video edited" version and a "heavy emotion" version, so you can hear it two ways. It was also the first of two Suicidal Tendencies albums to go gold, which makes it a useful stop for anyone tracing the band's late-eighties rise.
