Audioslave's self-titled debut arrived in November 2002 on Epic, the first record from a supergroup that brought together members of Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden. It sits at the very start of the band's story, ahead of Out of Exile in 2005 and Revelations in 2006, and it set out the hard rock, post-grunge and alternative metal blend that defined their sound.

It was a big seller, certified triple platinum in the United States, and it produced five singles: "Cochise", "Like a Stone", "Show Me How to Live", "I Am the Highway" and "What You Are". "Like a Stone" earned a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance. If you want to hear how two very different heavyweight rock histories met in one band, this is the place to begin.
