Revelations
Revelations is the third and final studio album by Audioslave, the American rock supergroup that paired singer Chris Cornell with the members of Rage Against the Machine. It came out on 4 September 2006 internationally, with a US release a day later, on Epic Records and Interscope Records. It follows their self-titled debut of 2002 and Out of Exile from 2005.
The record sits at the end of the band's story. Cornell left in February 2007, and with the rest of the group busy with a Rage Against the Machine reunion, they chose to disband Audioslave rather than look for a new vocalist. That makes Revelations the last chapter of a band that blended hard rock, alternative rock and heavy metal, and a fitting place to hear what this line-up sounded like at its final stage.
