Love
Love is a soundtrack album built from the Beatles' recordings and made for the Cirque du Soleil show of the same name. Rather than simply collecting the songs, it remixes them into a mashup, with pieces from across their catalogue woven together. It came out in November 2006 on Parlophone.
George Martin produced it with his son Giles, and it turned out to be the last album George worked on as a producer before his death in 2016. Giles described it as a new experience, a way of reliving the whole Beatles story in a very condensed period. That is a fair summary of the appeal: if you know these songs well, this is a chance to hear them rearranged and set against one another in unexpected ways.
