Beatles for Sale
Beatles for Sale is a four-track EP issued by Parlophone on 6 April 1965, the eighth official EP from the Beatles. It draws its songs from the album of the same name, which came out in December 1964 and became one of the fastest-selling albums in the world. The EP was mono only, carried the catalogue number GEP 8931, and, as with earlier releases, came with sleeve notes by the group's publicist, Tony Barrow.
It was a hit in its own right. It entered the British EP chart on 10 April, reached number one on 24 April and stayed there for five weeks, then returned to the top for another week from 12 June. In all it spent 47 weeks on the chart. Australian pressings swapped "Rock and Roll Music" for "Words of Love", and the EP also appeared elsewhere outside the Americas.
