Ain’t She Sweet
Ain't She Sweet was an American compilation released on ATCO Records on 5 October 1964. It pairs four tracks the Beatles recorded in Hamburg in 1961 and 1962 with cover versions by another group, the Swallows, who tackle songs from the Beatles and the wider British Invasion.
It belongs to the wave of Beatles releases that appeared in the United States during 1964, when labels were eager to put out anything connected to the band. Its real appeal is those four early Hamburg recordings, which capture the group as a rock and roll outfit before the albums that made their name. For anyone curious about where the Beatles began, they make an interesting listen, and the Swallows' covers round out the record as a period curiosity.
