Live at the Marquee
Live at the Marquee is Dream Theater's first live album, recorded at London's Marquee Club on 23 April 1993 and released in August 1993 on ATCO Records. It arrived between Images and Words in 1992 and Awake in 1994, capturing the American progressive metal band on tour in the UK capital. Most of James LaBrie's vocals were re-recorded in a studio afterwards.
What makes it worth hearing is the material you won't find elsewhere. "Bombay Vindaloo" is an improvisation-based piece that the band played live only six times and never put down in a studio. There is also "Another Hand", an instrumental written on tour to link the end of "Another Day" to "The Killing Hand", which always followed it in the set. The cover image draws on the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
