Distance Over Time
Distance Over Time is Dream Theater's fourteenth studio album, released on 22 February 2019. It was the American progressive metal band's first release on Inside Out Music, and it arrived after The Astonishing in 2016. The record was announced alongside a North American tour, which also marked twenty years since Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory, their fifth album.
Three singles led the way: "Untethered Angel" in December 2018, "Fall into the Light" in January 2019 and "Paralyzed" in early February, the first and last with their own videos. It proved to be the band's strongest chart performer to date, reaching the top 10 in 19 countries and going to number one in Germany and Switzerland. For anyone who has followed Dream Theater's progressive metal and heavier edge, it is a good place to catch up with where they stood in the late 2010s.
