Jed is the second album by Goo Goo Dolls, released on 22 February 1989 on Metal Blade Records. It arrived two years after their self-titled debut and sits in the band's earliest, punkier chapter, well before the polished rock of their later records. The title nods to painter Jed Jackson, Robby Takac's art teacher at Medaille College, who also painted the cover artwork, "Arkansas Sunset".

The record matters for a quiet change in the line-up of voices. Takac sings most of the songs, but John Rzeznik takes the lead on two of them, "Up Yours" and "James Dean", making this the first Goo Goo Dolls album to feature him as a vocalist. If you only know the band through their later hits, it's a revealing listen: a raw, fast-moving pop-punk record that shows where the group started and how the singing duties began to shift.
