Boxes
Boxes is the eleventh studio album by the American rock band Goo Goo Dolls, released on 6 May 2016 through Warner Records. It follows Magnetic and sits between the band's 2013 releases and Miracle Pill in 2019. It's also a record of change: the first made without drummer Mike Malinin, who left the band in 2013, and the first recorded as a duo.
That makes it the first Goo Goo Dolls album without him since A Boy Named Goo. In the US it debuted and peaked at number 27 on the Billboard 200, with first-week sales of 15,000 copies. It was the first of their studio albums since Dizzy Up the Girl in 1998 not to open in the top ten. For fans of the band's pop-leaning alternative rock, it's a useful snapshot of how they sounded as a pared-back pairing.
