Gutterflower
Gutterflower is the seventh studio album by the American rock band the Goo Goo Dolls, released on 9 April 2002 on Warner Bros. Records. Its genre tags run across alternative rock, pop rock, post-grunge and power pop, which suits a band that had spent years moving from scrappy beginnings towards a bigger, more melodic sound.
It arrived as the follow-up to A Boy Named Goo and Dizzy Up the Girl, the two records that had earned the band such strong critical regard. Gutterflower held its own against that pair commercially, climbing to No. 4 on the Billboard 200, the highest position the band have reached on that chart. For anyone tracing the group's story, it is the record that shows how they followed their breakthrough years.
