Live in Buffalo: July 4th 2004
Live in Buffalo: July 4th 2004 is a concert album from the Goo Goo Dolls, released by Warner Bros. Records on 23 November 2004. It pairs a CD with a DVD of the band's Independence Day show in their home city, filmed and recorded on Niagara Square in front of Buffalo City Hall. The DVD carries nineteen songs, including "Iris", "Name" and "Slide", while the CD adds a studio version of their Supertramp cover "Give a Little Bit".
It arrived between Gutterflower and Let Love In, and it's worth seeing for the occasion as much as the setlist. More than 60,000 fans stood through a torrential downpour. The rain eased for the start, then returned harder during "January Friend". The band were briefly taken off stage as a precaution, then carried on and finished, dropping three songs from the plan. Crew members likened the performance to Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense.
