Reise, Reise is Rammstein's fourth studio album, following Herzeleid, Sehnsucht and Mutter. It came out on 27 September 2004, with a North American release on 16 November that year. The band recorded it at El Cortijo Studios in Málaga, Spain, producing it themselves alongside the Swedish producer Jacob Hellner. Its title translates as "Travel, travel".

The record went to number one in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Iceland, Finland, Estonia and Mexico, and reached the top ten in several other European countries. Four singles came from it: "Mein Teil", "Amerika", "Ohne dich" and "Keine Lust". Material left over from these sessions fed straight into the next album, Rosenrot, which collects six outtakes and was first planned as a second volume of this one. It even borrows the Arctic artwork from the Japanese edition of Reise, Reise, so the two records make natural companions.
