The Weight of the World
The Weight of the World is the seventh studio album by American heavy metal band Metal Church, released in September 2004 through Steamhammer. It follows Masterpeace from 1999 and was the band's first record with a new line-up: Ronny Munroe on vocals, Jay Reynolds on guitar and Steve Unger on bass.
It marks the start of Metal Church's third major era, and it is the last album to feature Kirk Arrington on drums. Critics and fans have both hailed it as the band's comeback record. The songs dwell on crime, war, rejection and madness, which suits the heavy, no-nonsense metal on offer. It is a good place to start if you want to hear how the band regrouped before A Light in the Dark followed in 2006.
