No Rest for the Wicked is Ozzy Osbourne's fifth solo studio album, released in September 1988 through CBS. It follows The Ultimate Sin from 1986 and sits before No More Tears in the run of his late-eighties and early-nineties records. It's a heavy metal and hard rock album, rooted in the traditional style that Osbourne had built his solo career on.

The record is worth hearing as a changing of the guard. It marks the first appearance of guitarist Zakk Wylde and keyboardist John Sinclair, and it brought bassist Bob Daisley back for the first time since Bark at the Moon. It reached number 13 on the Billboard 200, went gold in December 1988, and has since gone double platinum. For anyone tracing how Osbourne's sound moved into its next chapter, this is the place to start.
