Live
Live is Metal Church's first live album, and for almost two decades it stood alone in their catalogue until another arrived in 2017. It came out on Steamhammer on 5 October 1998 and gathers recordings made at various locations during 1986, performed by the band's original line-up. The tapes were shelved for years, and little was ever documented about where they came from.
For anyone who loves the thrash-leaning side of Metal Church, it offers a rare snapshot of the first line-up on stage, in the period around their second album, The Dark. "Start the Fire" had already surfaced in the late 1980s on the compilation Time to Rock, though with a different mix and possibly some studio treatment, so here it can be heard in a rawer form.
