Follow the Leader
Follow the Leader is Korn's third studio album, released on 18 August 1998. It followed their self-titled debut and Life Is Peachy, and it was the first Korn record made without Ross Robinson in the producer's chair. Steve Thompson and Toby Wright took over, and the band's mix of nu metal, funk metal and rap metal went on to reach a far bigger audience.
It topped four national charts, including the US Billboard 200, where it sold 268,000 units in its first week, and it remains their biggest seller, certified five-times Platinum by the RIAA. "Got the Life" and "Freak on a Leash" became fixtures on MTV, and the latter's video won Best Rock Video at the MTV Video Music Awards and a Grammy at the 2000 ceremony. Many see it as the record that carried nu metal into the mainstream, and the Family Values Tour took it on the road.
