The Essential Korn
The Essential Korn is a compilation released on 10 May 2011, gathering highlights from the American nu metal band's career into a single collection. It arrived the year after Korn III: Remember Who You Are and in the same year as The Path of Totality, so it sits between two distinct chapters of a catalogue that began with their self-titled debut in 1994.
By this point Korn had built a body of work that included Life Is Peachy, Follow the Leader, Issues and Untouchables, and the band's wider discography runs to 14 studio albums, with ten releases going platinum. For anyone wanting the nu metal sound that defined so many teenage years in the late 1990s and early 2000s without committing to every album, a compilation like this is a handy way in, and a decent reminder of how long the band has kept going.
