Life Is Peachy
Life Is Peachy is the second album from Korn, the American band who helped shape nu metal. It came out on 15 October 1996 on Immortal Records. For the follow-up to their 1994 debut, they reunited with producer Ross Robinson and went back to Indigo Ranch Studios. The songs deal with drugs, sex, betrayal, revenge and awkward social encounters, and bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu came up with the title.
This was the record that broke Korn through, after two years of constant touring had built a loyal following. It debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and went on to sell almost three million copies worldwide. Reviews were mixed, but the songwriting and sound were praised, and the band's blend of metal and hip-hop beats stood out. Jonathan Davis's vocal on "Good God" is often singled out as the album's heart. It won Best Album at the 1997 Kerrang! Awards.
