Borrowed Time
Borrowed Time is the second studio album by British heavy metal band Diamond Head, released on 15 October 1982 through MCA Records. It followed their 1980 debut, Lightning to the Nations, and came out a year before Canterbury, so it sits at the point where the band stepped onto a major label.
The record reached No. 24 on the UK Albums Chart, entering and peaking there in the week of 23 October 1982. Guitarist Brian Tatler later named this as his favourite period with the band, saying they "seemed to be getting somewhere after six years of building". That sense of a group finally gathering momentum is a good way into the album, which is worth hearing for anyone tracing the story of British heavy metal in the early 1980s.
