Sweet & Innocent
Sweet & Innocent is a compilation from Diamond Head, released in 1988 on the Metal Masters label. It gathers material from the band's early years, when they were among the figures of the new wave of British heavy metal.
Diamond Head formed in Stourbridge, West Midlands, in 1976, built around schoolfriends Brian Tatler on guitar and Duncan Scott on drums, with singer Sean Harris joining the same year and bassist Collin Kimberley arriving in 1978. Their studio albums Lightning to the Nations (1980), Borrowed Time (1982) and Canterbury (1983) came before this release. Metallica and Megadeth have both cited them as an early influence, so a collection like this is a handy way into the band's story.
