Here and Now
Here and Now is the seventh studio album by Canadian rock band Nickelback, released on 21 November 2011. It was their last record for Roadrunner Records. The singles "When We Stand Together" and "Bottoms Up" arrived in late September, with "This Means War", the opening track, following in November as the third single. The cover shows Vancouver's Gastown Steam Clock, its hands set to 11:21 to match the release date.
It follows Dark Horse and sits between the band's post-grunge roots and their heavier, alternative metal leanings, with plenty of straight-ahead rock in the mix. The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 with around 227,000 first-week sales, narrowly behind Michael Bublé's Christmas. It went on to sell two million copies worldwide by October 2013, and the band toured behind it on the Here and Now Tour. A good place to start if you want the band's big-chorus approach in one sitting.
