Album
Dark Horse
Dark Horse is the sixth studio album by the Canadian rock band Nickelback, released in November 2008. It followed All the Right Reasons (2005), which had reached Diamond certification, and it was co-produced by the band with Robert John "Mutt" Lange, whose credits include work with Foreigner, AC/DC, Bryan Adams, Def Leppard and Shania Twain. The record sits in the post-grunge and hard rock mould, with touches of alternative metal and country rock.
Its commercial run was a long one. It sold 326,000 copies in its first week and debuted at number two in the US, then stayed on the Billboard 200 for 125 consecutive weeks. It later placed at number 191 on Billboard's 200 Albums of the Decade, and by 2010 it had sold three million copies in the US and five million worldwide. For anyone curious how Nickelback sounded with Lange in the room, this is the one to hear.
