Def Leppard

Def Leppard are an English rock band from Sheffield, formed in 1976 and still going. They emerged as part of the new wave of British heavy metal, but their sound soon turned towards polished, melodic hard rock with big backing vocals. The change began with High 'n' Dry (1981), their second album and the first produced by Mutt Lange. Its single "Bringin' On the Heartbreak" was among the first rock videos shown on MTV.

Pyromania (1983) brought "Photograph" and "Rock of Ages" to the top of the US Rock Tracks chart, and it reached Diamond status in America. Hysteria (1987) went further, topping charts in the UK, US, Canada and Australia, and producing six US Top 20 singles, including "Love Bites" and "Pour Some Sugar on Me". Adrenalize (1992), made after guitarist Steve Clark's death, also went to No. 1 in the UK, US and Australia. The band entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
