Yeah!
Yeah! is Def Leppard's ninth studio album and their first made up entirely of cover versions. It came out on 23 May 2006 on their own Bludgeon Riffola label, in the same week in the US. The release had originally been pencilled in for September 2005, so fans had a long wait before the date was finally confirmed in March 2006.
It sits between X (2002) and Songs From the Sparkle Lounge (2008), a record where the band step away from writing and pay tribute to other people's songs. It reached No. 16 on the Billboard 200 and No. 52 in the UK, so it found a more receptive audience in America. For anyone who enjoys hearing a hard rock band put its own stamp on the songs it loves, it is a relaxed and revealing side project to explore.
