Look What the Cat Dragged In is the debut studio album by Poison, the American glam metal band. It came out in May 1986 on Enigma Records and Capitol Records, and it set the template for everything that followed in their catalogue: big hooks, hairspray and a hard rock stomp aimed squarely at the pop-minded end of the Sunset Strip.

It was slow to catch on, but it kept building. A year after release it reached number 3 on the US Billboard 200, helped along by three successful singles: "Talk Dirty to Me", "I Want Action" and "I Won't Forget You". The RIAA certified it Gold in 1987 and 3× Platinum in 1990, and it also earned a silver award in the UK and platinum in Canada. If you want to hear where Poison began, and why the follow-up, Open Up and Say… Ahh!, arrived to such an eager audience, start here.
