Pierced From Within
Pierced From Within is the third album by New York death metal band Suffocation, released on 23 May 1995 through Roadrunner Records. It sits between the band's debut, Effigy of the Forgotten, and the long gap that followed before Souls to Deny arrived in 2004. At 45 minutes and 31 seconds, it remains the longest record in their catalogue.
It follows Breeding the Spawn, which drew heavy criticism, and it won far warmer reactions, coming to be counted among the band's best work. Its mix of brutal and technical death metal makes it a good place to hear Suffocation at full strength. Roadrunner later paired it with Effigy of the Forgotten in its Two from the Vault series.
