P.H.U.Q.
P.H.U.Q. is the second full-length album from British rock band The Wildhearts, released on 22 May 1995 on EastWest. It went straight into the UK Albums Chart at number 6. The band had first hoped to follow Earth vs. The Wildhearts with a double album of longer, more intricate songs, including "Inglorious" and "Do the Channel Bop". With little backing from the label, six of the songs written by then came out instead as a fan club-only mini-album, Fishing for Luckies.
The record also marks a turning point in the line-up. Guitarist and singer C.J. took part in only some of the early sessions before group leader Ginger fired him, and several songs were then recorded with Ginger as the only guitarist. Ginger has said the title is pronounced "fuck". In 2015 the band toured the UK and Tokyo playing the album in full for its 20th anniversary, and the shows were released the next year as the live album Never Outdrunk, Never Outsung - PHUQ Live.
